Embrace the unknown; Welcome Change

Unlike a lot of people, I’ve never been too phased by change. In fact, I’ve strangely looked forward to it - a bit too much.
I’ve always seen it as a new adventure.
A new home, a new city, a new boss, a new school. New = different and different is Ok
(for me).
Today was my last day at my school.
The school that took the gamble on an NQT 5 years ago and made me the teacher/SENCO that I am today. I’ve worked in special education for all of my teaching career so It’s all I’ve known.
The unknown is stepping back into mainstream education, starting afresh, meeting new people and learning new systems in a brand new role as Assistant Head. It’s a lot of change and for once I’m nervous about the unknown but I can’t wait to step into my new journey.
Change is necessary in life. It would be far easier for me to stay still and stay put but If you don’t step out of your comfort zone you’ll never know what’s on offer across the road. It’s not always as great as your current home and you may not have as many mates there but how will you know if you don’t step out?
Good or bad, you’ll be be a better person for jumping in the deep end or taking that extra step into new territory.
Embrace the unknown; Welcome change
